I have been a Speech-Language Pathologist since 2004 and graduated with my MA with honors from the University of Colorado, Boulder.  My undergraduate was completed at San Francisco State University with a double BA in Communication Sciences and Recreation and Leisure Studies.  Please see link below for my CV.

My Story
Me As mother

My world forever changed the morning of January 7th, 2022 when my husband, Frank James Menhams, suddenly died from a heart attack.  Before that I understood my place in the world as a mother, wife, business co-owner and Speech Language Pathologist.  Suddenly, none of it made sense or mattered...other than being a mother.  In the stillness of his heart mine was set free.  Now I find myself tending to the

2007-2017

Speech Language Pathologist for Mendocino Coast District Hospital (MCDH)

Owner and operator of a small company focusing on speech based evaluations and treatment for individuals with developmental differences.  I follow a strengths based, social model approach in a natural settings to foster communication and positive peer relationships.

Provided speech/language therapy & diagnostic evaluations for various districts in Mendocino County.  Provided services for preschool through high school with mild to profound communication disorders

  • Participated in IEP and RTI (Response to Intervention) writing and implementation

  • Member of evaluation and implementation team (ACCESS) to assess Augmentative and Assistive Communication (AAC) needs of students for MCOE

Lead Speech-Language Pathologist and Swallowing Specialist for inpatient, outpatient and home health settings; serving pediatric through geriatric populations. 

  • Conducted AAC evaluations for adults and children, provided AAC training for device users.

  • Conducted inpatient, outpatient and home health dysphagia evaluations.

  • Conducted Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) Studies for adults.

  • Conducted inpatient and outpatient cognitive evaluations for adults.
